 Alignment is how things line up.

Alignment is pretty straightforward how things are placed on a page that is in line with each other or not in line with each other.

Examples of alignment would be how your page is justified in a word document. You can also use alignment to create a feeling of calm by having everything perfectly aligned but you can create the opposite effect if you purposely leave things misaligned.
