Writer/Designer Reading Journal #3 Visual Mode
Visual Mode refers to the use of images and other characteristics that readers see.
To me, this means anything that isn't the written word that a reader or consumer sees with their eyes in a design is using the visual mode. This would include photos, graphs, color for emphasis, and imagery.
An example of this would be the parts of infographics that aren't written words. Also, any photos used in advertisements or articles.
