 Affordances are the different strengths and weaknesses of media (video, writing, pictures, etc) and modes.

Affordances are the important main uses for each mode and the reasons why or why not use certain media or modes.

An example of affordances is like using visual mode and images to create a better impact on the viewer.

It can be used to create unity it can also be used to create contrast. It can also be a tool to create eye flow. Using colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel will produce a high contrast effect while using colors close to each other will create a more harmonious result. Warm colors will stand out against cool colors and demand more attention.
